Norway’s E&Ps already pay the highest carbon taxes in the world. The country's latest carbon plan would see the combined Norway CO2 tax and EU ETS price reach US$262/tonne by 2030 – more than a two-fold increase compared to our old forecast. In this Insight, we provide an overview of Norway’s proposed carbon price change, examining its impact on remaining asset and company value, and whether this will incentivise electrification at pre-FID projects.
