As a research analyst with our European Power team, Ahmed monitors power market trends across the region. His focus includes analytical, research and modelling support to subject matter experts across our power, solar, wind and storage teams. He also covers heat and transport electrification, grid flexibility (V2G) and emerging technologies modelling, including wave and tidal energy.
Ahmed joined Wood Mackenzie’s Energy Transition Practice in 2021. Prior to this, he made his own transition from the fossil fuel power sector (where he was a diesel power plant engineer supervisor) to join the renewables sector as a technical consultant. In that role, he undertook energy yield modelling, per-construction and operational due diligence analysis for wind, solar and hydro projects across the UK.
