Report summary
The Hunan other mines are the combined production from numerous small mines in the province which we do not include as individual assets in our cost service. Zinc-lead ore deposits in Hunan are mainly concentrated in Chenzhou region. Located in the southeast of Hunan province, Chenzhou's ore deposit is different with those small mines in Huayuan region in northwest of the province. Chenzhou ore deposits contain higher zinc and lead, and at some areas of the ore belt, there could be higher silver content. There are a few large zinc-lead mines in the surrounding region notably Baoshan and Huangshaping in Hunan province. Underground mining is still the only method with small scale operations. Common underground mining methods used are cut and fill, open stoping, and block caving.
