Report summary
Algeria is the largest gas, and third largest oil producer in Africa. It is a member of OPEC and of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum. Oil production is in decline but the country's gas production has seen a revival since 2021, underpinned by lower gas reinjection rates, due to OPEC quotas, and the development of new green field projects.
