Report summary
The state-owned Amangeldi Area gas fields are located in south Kazakhstan. They are operated by QazaqGaz, Kazakhstan's national gas operator, to provide strategic gas supply to the city of Almaty and nearby regions. The core Amangeldi field was commissioned in 2003. The Zharkum satellite achieved first gas in 2014, followed by Airakti in 2017 and Anabai in 2023. Kumirli and Barkhannaya are scheduled to come onstream in the near future.
