The Atrush oil field is located in the Kurdistan region of Iraq, 85 kilometres northwest of the capital Erbil. It contains medium-light and heavy oil in Jurassic fractured carbonates.HKN Energy has operated the field since August 2024 and was put on production in mid-2017 with an initial capacity of 30,000 b/d.
