Report summary
The Gjøa Area includes the Gjøa fields and Hamlet pre-FID project in the Northern North Sea.Gjøa consists of three oil and gas fields 60 kilometres north of the Troll Øst field. A plan for development and operation (PDO) was approved in 2007. Production from Gjøa began in 2010.The Hamlet field was originally discovered in 1997 but appraisal drilling in the first half of 2022 made a commercial find in a structure to the south of the initial discovery. The discovery is approximately 14 kilometres north of the Gjøa platform. The operator has accelerated development plans and a final investment decision is expected before the end of 2022.
