Sierra Leone is a small West African country. It borders Liberia to its southeast and Guinea to the north. The end of the civil war in 2002 and successful elections opened up the country to hydrocarbon exploration. The country's petroleum regulatory body, the Petroleum Directorate of Sierra Leone (PDSL), promotes, negotiates and manages licences.
