Peter is a research director with more than a decade’s experience in European power and renewables markets. Peter joined Wood Mackenzie in 2007 as a senior power markets analyst, before moving into a role as product manager for our European Gas & Power Service. He took up the role of research director in 2015. Before joining the business, Peter was at National Grid in the UK, leading the production of long-term power generation and energy demand analysis. He has also held market forecasting, transmission network planning and commercial roles in the UK gas industry.

Nancy Wang is an Investment Director at Octopus Energy Generation, the generation arm of the Octopus Energy Group. Since joining Octopus, Nancy has led the investment strategy in solar, onshore wind and battery storage for GB, the largest market for the company, and more recently, spearheaded the development and implementation of the company’s co-investment and SMA strategy, building partnerships with large institutional investors on larger transactions. With 16 years of experience in the infrastructure and energy space in multiple regions and across both equity and debt, Nancy started her career in investment banking M&A advisory in Asia in energy and mining industry. She also had a long tenure working at the International Finance Corporation, the private sector arm of the World Bank focusing on energy and infra debt and equity transactions in the Middle East and Africa region prior to joining Octopus. Nancy is a strong believer and advocate for using technology and innovation to build a more agile, flexible and accessible energy system adapted to a low carbon future, and passionate about supporting the economic development and climate adaptation of emerging markets.

Giovanni has participated in the funding of c.€9.1 billion of energy transactions globally. He has served as board member of various solar energy companies in Italy, France, Netherlands and the UK. During his career, he has been involved in more than €1.9 billion UK and European solar energy transactions. Giovanni has played a leading role in BSIF (Bluefield Solar Income Fund) strategy since its IPO, with a focus on portfolio management, portfolio financing and investment. Giovanni’s exposure to solar energy dates back to 1998 when working at the Italian energy agency ENEA. Giovanni has as MBA from Luiss School of Management, Rome, and an MSc in Power Engineering.

He is the co-author of IRENA's recent flagship report 24/7 Renewables: The Economics of Firm Solar and Wind, which sets out a framework for costing round-the-clock clean power and has been cited by outlets including The New York Times, The Economist and Forbes. He is also a key contributor to IRENA's annual Renewable Power Generation Costs series, a benchmark reference on the cost-competitiveness of renewable technologies. An engineer and energy economist with more than fifteen years in the sector, Saied previously spent seven years as an energy economist at the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna. He holds an energy engineering degree, a PhD in process engineering, and an executive MBA.

John Harrington

John Harrington leads Banking and Finance Strategy at LandGate Corp, where he oversees energy and infrastructure intelligence use cases for major financial institutions. His work is focused on translating LandGate’s proprietary grid, power, and data center data into institutional use cases for bank underwriting, credit risk modeling, stress testing, and investing. Prior to LandGate, John held advisory and credit roles across the U.S. banking sector. At Moody’s, he supported regional bank clients in a variety of ways, giving him direct exposure to how large institutions approach credit risk modeling, regulatory stress testing, and model validation. During this time, he was on the leading edge of the shifts within CRE stress testing regulatory guidance as well as adjusted ALM processes following the SVB liquidity crisis. Before Moody’s, he held credit risk roles at Fifth Third Bank and First Bank, where his work was concentrated in commercial and industrial underwriting and complex credit analysis. During his time at Fifth Third, John spent time as the lead underwriter for the Renewable Energy team. John holds a degree in Commercial Banking from the McColl School of Business at Queens University of Charlotte. He is still based in Charlotte, North Carolina.
