Report summary
The Simandou deposit ranks among the world's largest undeveloped sources of high-grade iron ore and is positioned to become a first-quartile supplier to the seaborne market. We expect Simandou Blocks 1 and 2 to follow a similar development path to Blocks 3 and 4, supported by completed shared rail and port infrastructure and strong backing from both the Guinean government and the Baowu-led consortium. With major construction complete, the key challenges have shifted to operational execution, workforce management and ramp-up performance as production advances towards the planned 60 Mtpa first-phase capacity by 2030.
